Wouldn’t it be lovely to chat with people who share your passions or understand your experiences? We all know how much a good conversation with the right people can lift our spirits and brighten our day. But finding those connections in our busy lives isn’t always easy.
That’s why we’ve created the Sutton Virtual Community – a friendly space where you can meet people from your local area who enjoy the same things you do, share similar experiences, or just fancy a good chat.
What’s it all about?
Think of it as your local community centre, but from the comfort of your sofa. We bring together small groups of people who have something in common – whether that’s managing diabetes, caring for someone, loving gardening, or simply wanting to connect with others.
Each week, you’ll meet the same friendly faces for an hour or so. You might share tips, swap stories, or just enjoy a cuppa together. It’s your group, so you decide what you talk about.

Who can join?
If you’re 18+ and registered with a Sutton GP, you’re welcome! We especially encourage you to join if you:
- Miss having regular social connections
- Would enjoy meeting new people with similar interests
- Sometimes feel lonely or isolated
- Are managing a long-term health condition

“I’m not great with technology”
No problem! If you can make a phone call, you can join. We’ll talk you through everything.
“What if I don’t like it?”
That’s fine – there’s no obligation to continue. But most people find they really look forward to their weekly catch-up!
“Is it really free?”
Absolutely! This is an NHS service provided through your GP surgery.
“What if I don’t have a camera?”
We can help find alternative ways for you to join.
“How long does it last?”
Groups meet for an hour a week for 12 weeks, but many continue meeting as friends afterwards.
